What's inside
  • Bank of Reindeerland notes: real banknote size, signed by Santa Claus, Chief Cashier, with serial numbers and guilloche detailing
  • Santa's Flying Licence: a UK-licence-sized card issued by the Flying Sleigh Licence Agency. Scan the code to see his record. Turn it over: the categories are reindeer, not vehicles, and the lead one has a red nose
  • North Pole Pay card: the card he actually paid with. The number matches the one on his Frosta receipt
  • Frosta coffee receipt: on genuine thermal paper. Put it near heat and it darkens, exactly like a real till receipt
  • Reedl Express receipt: the items on it are the ones crossed off his shopping list
  • Santa's shopping list: handwritten, half crossed off, with a game of noughts and crosses on the back
  • Frosta Coffee Club card: one stamp away from a free coffee
  • North Pole Lotto ticket: scan it to see this year's draw and check his numbers
  • North Pole Public Library card: scan it to see what he's been reading
  • North Pole postage stamps: real peel-off stickers
  • A photo of Mrs Claus: in the window, where anyone keeps one
  • A postcard from Santa: the next-day reveal (see below)
The postcard, and why it matters

Don't let them open the postcard on Christmas morning. Keep it back.

When a child finds the wallet, the instinct is to want to give it back, and that's the whole point. Let them do the right thing for a day. Then post the postcard through your own front door the next morning. It's from Santa: he's already been given a replacement, and they may keep it.

They get rewarded for their honesty. That's the ending we built.

Good to know
  • Best for ages 3-10, while belief is strongest
  • Novelty keepsakes throughout: the notes are clearly not legal tender and copy no real currency
  • Vegan faux leather wallet with the North Pole crest embossed
  • Contents printed and hand-packed in the UK

Santa's Lost Wallet®: the original, invented by our family in 2021. Every other version came after ours.

Is it right for my child?

Best for ages 3 to 10, the years when belief is strongest. Children tend to stop believing at around eight, so the window is shorter than most parents expect.

Everything is a novelty keepsake rather than a toy. Small parts mean adult supervision for under-3s.

Santa's Lost Wallet with all of its contents

Why we made it

They'll be certain Santa was really here.

A stocking is something you give them. A wallet on the floor is evidence, and children are far better at believing evidence than being told.

We're parents too. Every Christmas you get is one you don't get back, so we built something to buy you another one: a morning they'll still be describing to somebody in twenty years.

Everything inside is made to survive being examined by a child who half suspects you.

How it works

Four moments, in order

It isn't a gift they open. It's something that happens to them.

  1. The closed wallet placed on the floor by the Christmas tree
    1

    Christmas Eve, once they're asleep

    You hide it

Under the tree, by the fireplace, halfway down the stairs. Wherever a man in a hurry might have dropped it.

  2. A child finding the wallet on Christmas morning
    2

    Christmas morning

    They find it

Before the presents, before anything. He didn't just visit. He left something behind, and it has his name all over it.

  3. All twelve keepsakes being worked through on Christmas Day
    3

    All of Christmas Day

    The magic unfolds

Twelve keepsakes, worked out one at a time. His licence, his receipts, his shopping list, a photo of Mrs Claus. Three of them scan. All of them are evidence.

  4. The postcard from Santa arriving through the door the morning after Christmas
    4

    The morning after Christmas

    The postcard arrives

Hold this one back and post it through your own door. Santa thanks them for looking after it, says he's sorted a replacement, and tells them to keep the one they found, rewarded for wanting to give it back.

Everything he dropped

Twelve keepsakes, made to be checked

Every year someone's eight-year-old goes looking for the crack. So every item is made to be hyperrealistic, and every detail is cross-checked against the others until the whole story holds together. Printed and hand-packed in the UK, with not a single piece of filler.

Bank of Reindeerland notes
Bank of Reindeerland notesFive notes, and every one is a different real currency. The 10 and 20 are pounds, the 50 is euros, the 100 is dollars, and the 500 is Polish złoty, printed in Polish.
Santa's Flying Licence
Santa's Flying LicenceA UK-size plastic card, laid out like a real driving licence and issued by the Flying Sleigh Licence Agency. Scan it and the FSLA website opens on his own record, with a live counter of how many times he has lost this licence. He loses things. Which rather explains the wallet.
North Pole Pay card
North Pole Pay cardHis bank card, with the details printed flat on the back exactly like a modern one. The number on it matches the number on the receipt, because comparing them is the first thing they do.
Frosta coffee receipt
Frosta coffee receiptA stop for coffee on the way round, printed on genuine thermal paper. Put it near real heat and it darkens, exactly like a real till receipt.
Reedl Express receipt
Reedl Express receiptThe big shop before the big night, itemised line by line. Check it against the shopping list. What's crossed off is what he actually bought.
Santa's shopping list
Santa's shopping listHalf of it crossed off in his own handwriting. Turn it over and there's a game of tic-tac-toe on the back, left unfinished.
North Pole Lotto ticket
North Pole Lotto ticketSix numbers, bought on Christmas Eve. Scan it to check them against the results, then watch the replay of the draw itself.
North Pole Library card
North Pole Library cardHe reads, apparently. Scan it for his borrowing record, including whatever he has out right now.
Frosta Coffee Club card
Frosta Coffee Club cardStamps collected, one short of a free one. Even he has a loyalty card in his wallet.
North Pole postage stamps
North Pole stampsActual peel-off stamps, properly perforated and franked with a North Pole postmark, for the letters that go back the other way.
A photo of Mrs Claus
A photo of Mrs ClausTucked in behind everything else, the way anybody carries one. This is the item most children go quiet at.
The postcard from Santa
Postcard from SantaThe one you keep back. Post it through your own door the morning after Christmas, and he thanks them for looking after it and tells them to keep it.

Questions, answered

The things parents ask us before they buy.

What if someone else in their class gets one too?

Then the story still works, because we built it to.

Scan the QR code on his Flying Licence and it takes you to the Flying Sleigh Licence Agency, where Santa's record updates live with the number of times his licence has had to be re-issued. Which is to say, the number of times he has lost it. It is on public record.

He admits it himself on the postcard: when you visit millions of houses in one night, you drop your wallet more than once.

And the odds are far smaller than parents imagine. It takes two children in the same town, at the same school, in the same year, in the same class, both being given one. That is vanishingly rare. On the odd occasion it does happen, the two of them compare notes and arrive at the answer the story has already given them: he had a long night, and he was in a hurry.

The part that stays theirs alone is the postcard. It comes through your own door, addressed to your child, the morning after Christmas.

Isn't this teaching them to keep something that isn't theirs?

This is a very important point, and the experience is built to reinforce good values rather than undermine them.

The magic does not end with finding the wallet. The next day, a postcard from Santa arrives. In it, Santa thanks your child for finding his wallet, and explains that Papa Elf has already issued him a replacement. He gives your child special permission to keep the found wallet, as a thank you and a keepsake.

So nothing is kept without asking. The story runs on your child wanting to give it back, which is what most of them say first, and it finishes with honesty rewarded and permission properly given.

Do the QR codes need an app?

No. Point any phone's camera at one and the page opens. No app to download, no account, no sign-up, and nothing collected from you or your child.

There are three to find, and each goes somewhere different: his flying licence, his lottery ticket and his library card. They work all year round, not just at Christmas.

What's the wallet actually made of?

The wallet itself is a soft faux leather: no animal products, wipes clean, and sturdy enough to survive being carried round the house for a fortnight.

Everything inside it is printed here in the UK on the materials the real things are printed on: genuine thermal paper for the receipts, UK-size plastic card stock for the licence and the bank card, proper perforated stamps. It's built as a keepsake rather than a toy, which is why most of the ones we've sold are still in a drawer somewhere years later.

Do you ship outside the UK?

Yes. £14.99 to the European Union and £23.99 to the rest of the world. International delivery times vary by destination and can't be guaranteed, and any customs duties or import taxes are payable by you.

Who actually makes these?

We do. Santa's Lost Wallet® was invented by our family in 2022, every item inside is printed in the UK with local printers, and the whole thing is packed by hand, by us, at our kitchen table, thousands of times over.

You're emailing a family, not a call centre. We aim to reply within one working day.
